| 10. | DIRECT VS INDIRECT INSURANCE COMPANY APPOINTMENTS For many Prospects and Clients the association of how we are able to access so many different insurance companies products is invisible. Here is some information that you hereby acknowledge in dealing with our Agency and this site. Appointment for some companies are what are deemed direct. The Agency written agreement with such carriers spell out the terms and conditions under which we are to work with them in order to get quotes. In some situations they allow the Agency to bind coverage and grant us a written "authority" do to so. With other Direct appointments we may not. Instead we have to make a complete submission either in advance or within a given window of time. In Direct associations are when we place business with a Manager. These Managers and called Managing General Agents. For the most part MGA's do not and will not deal with the Consumer directly. They work solely with an Agency like Athena Insurance and Financial Services. They too have a written agreement in most situations that guide us on the terms and conditions under which we must operate in order to make a submission to get a quote and under which procedures we MUST follow in order to bind. The point is...we do not have Direct appointments with all of our carriers and do work with MGA's in order to help you find the insurance you need. |
